We made it to Alaska!  Another rough night with rain and wind but not as bad as the previous night. Decided to drive to Beaver Creek for breakfast, but when we got there we found out the north end of town lost power in the night during the storm. The only place open was a mini-mart on the south side – Bummer! Crossed the border around 8:00 am and drove into another time zone (Alaskan) which is 4 hr different from Iowa (noon in Iowa is 8:00 am in Alaska). That fact and that today is the summer solstice means our biological clocks will certainly be messed up.  Did not see a lot of wildlife but Brian did have a grizzly cub running along beside his car for a bit (undoubtedly wanting to play) before crossing over in front of his car.

Drove in rain all the way to Tok, arriving there around 11:00 am. We initially planned to spend the night at a campground in Tok, but decided that three more hours in the T's beat three hours sitting in a tent/camper, plus we heard that the sun was shining in Delta Junction, so we kept driving. Actually, we began to see sunshine about half way to Delta Junction and by the time we got here there was hardly a cloud in the sky and the sun was out and warm, We're both trying to think when was the last time we drove with the storm curtains off, but they may come off tomorrow.
