For the first time in a long time, we packed up the camper under dry, sunny skies! Also, we heard coyotes howling from one mountain to the other across the valley. This was the first time that we heard them howling all trip.

Initially we planned to stay south of Beaver Creek where we stayed on the way up to Alaska, but decided to push farther to Destruction Bay. This turned out to be a good news – bad news situation. The good is that we hope to do in two days what we took three days to do earlier. The bad news is that it made for a very long day over the roughest roads on the Alaska Highway! At least we only had one day of the worst roads rather than two.

We stopped for lunch at a roadside rest and visited with a couple from Belgium, then with a couple from Waterloo at the campground in Destruction Bay. Both cars continue to run well as long as Brian remembers to keep his well hydrated. He acquired a small leak earlier from a flying stone, but after adding some "stop leak" that is currently not an issue. Hills or more correctly, mountains, continue to give him problems however, with his car tending to overheat.
